Dressing or Window Dressing?
These days my daughter has come to stay with me only to spend a part of her summer vacation with me.
While preparing to go to the office I don't mind keeping my shirt over my pants, unlike most of my colleagues, senior or junior who do what is usually called undershirting or trouser tucking the shirt.
She asked me: why don't you do like others?
She told me further that somehow she has had the notion since her childhood that one who is an officer wears like keeping his shirt trouser tucked inter alia.
Though she is not incorrect,I didn't feel like answering this question.

In fact during this sultry weather to be dressed in this way provides me a bit of extra comfort.
Though it's also not that I never do under-shirting, it's a fact that nowadays after spending years in the service I have come to attach more attention upon my work rather than on my attire. With regard to the latter all that I take care of is that it must not be sloven or disheveled to give an unpleasant look to others on the duty with me.

I also venture to say with opposing viewpoints of others that you don't give that much importance to the things which once upon a time happened to be too important to you.

I hope she will understand what I mean when she becomes a little more mature.
With years passing by, your way of looking at yourself and others as well keeps on changing.
I mean to say your sense and preference for dressing also changes with the passage of time in terms of years.
But as of now what she feels is not incorrect-I feel. She has every reason to think like that.
