The Best Leader.

On one occasion I was asked by my daughter as to who,at present,according to me, is the best leader in our state/ country.

  I wanted to divert the discussion for reasons of my reluctance to open my mind on the issue. Upon being insisted I had to give in to her recalcitrance.

In fact I hesitated slightly to answer.

But then I asked her-Sorry,in the present I can't tell you a single person to be called the best leader. It is for the simple reason that no one could be the best unless you are passionately prejudicial to a particular leadership qualities which are innumerable. So before I answer your question which I undoubtedly hold difficult to answer,you just first tell me which qualities according to you should a leader inevitably possess.

This question of mine served as a bait and now it was her turn to blink her eyes. 

After a deliberate pause she started calling spade and spade about the leadership qualities she held dear passionately.

According to her a leader must be -

          *Honest. A leader must be an out and out honest person.This quality of a leader must be at the top of the pyramid of leadership qualities.

             In fact personal accumulation of wealth must be an anathema for such a person even claiming himself to be a leader.

           * A person for whom the people he serves is all that is his kith and kin in the name of family notwithstanding the one formed by blood relations and the like.

           * A person of forward vision who is not only capable of foreseeing what he imagines but also competent enough to enable the people he leads to share the same future as he sees and what he sees.

           * One who has his own formula for development as well as own remedial prescription for social evils and masses too endorse that formula & prescription as the right course,right path and right choice.

           * One who is admired not only by men but women also for reasons of his concern for dignity of the fair sex in more ways than one.

         After hearing her patiently and carefully 

I answered her- Given the qualities you enumerated do I still need to answer which thus emerges out automatically and patently in the way that is known not only to me but also to one and all ? 

My answer was modelled in the form of a question. 

The conversation ended with a gleeful smile.
