R-DAY functions and States' Tableaux.

***********************************************
Normally I don't watch TV. The reason is-It fails to attract me.But this non-attraction of mine comes no way in the way of the members of my family. They feel free to criticize me for my unreasonable distance from TV while watching the latter.
The reason why I am not updated on many matters of general interests of life including cinema, fashion, products etc. inter alia is only because of my not giving importance to TV-they hold. I honestly feel they are right.

I don't know why I associate watching TV to limiting one's imagination; if not thought. I also don't know as to why and when a TV set happened to be known as an Idiot Box or बुद्धू बक्सा.
For me the best use of TV lies in the situation when you are sure that you have nothing to do as a matter of work or leisure.
These situations could be numerous. It could be when you are away from your near and dear ones. It could be when your 'sleep' is giving you a 'slip' for a number of reasons of daily trials and tribulations that life is full of. It could also be useful when you are staying in a hotel away from your town and have no plan to go outside after a sound sleep you just enjoyed.

But not all days are the same.

Having returned from office after participating in the flag hoisting ceremony there I found the TV set in my home ON showing live programs of Republic Day functions at the Rajpath of India Gate New Delhi.
Tableau of State after State was passing before the Dais adorned by the President, the Prime Minister and an array of dignitaries. The cameramen deputed for the coverage were trained enough not to leave the common people from being shown on the screen in the same ratio as a salt happens to be there in the pulse;I noticed.

Tableaux of many states including Meghalaya,Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and many more were winning praise and accolades.

Has the Tableau from Bihar become past the dais? I enquired from my daughter watching it keenly.

Don't you know Bihar remains unrepresented in terms of "Tableau" or "Glimpses" for many years? She counter-questioned me.
Why?-I asked. She also failed to answer.

We decided to go "Google" to find out the answer if any.

She found,on internet,a news published in the "Times of India" that read as follows-
No Bihar tableau in Republic Day parade for the fifth year in a row
(Faryal Rumi | TNN | Jan 22, 2021, 04:00 IST)
“Even though the selection committee appreciated the theme and the state government’s endeavours under the JJH(Jal Jeevan Hariyali)Mission, it turned down proposal for showcasing the same in the R-Day parade.Bihar government had proposed prohibition as the theme for its tableau in 2019 but it was also rejected for similar reasons.
Officials said the last time Bihar featured in the R-Day parade in Delhi was in 2016 when its tableau was based on the celebrations of 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha. Prior to that, the theme for Bihar’s tableau in 2013 was ‘Mithila ka Sikki art’. Sikki is a traditional folk craft of Mithila region. In 2012, the theme for Bihar’s tableau was ‘Dharhara Ki Beti’. Dharhara is a village in Bhagalpur district. It is famous for its tradition of planting trees by families on the birth of a girl child.``

The news clippings left both of us disappointed.

Is it fair for a state which has rich history, cultural heritage and traditions and that which is residence of 13 crores people to remain unrepresented this way in the R-DAY functions at the Rajpath when the entire nation is celebrating"आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव"?
