A conversation with my father that is still in my memory.

My father was not a very educated man in terms of formal education, although I think now (not then) that he had enough experience of the difficulties and hardships that can befall anyone in life.
I once asked him – Father! How can I know about a person's true nature or character without being with him or having any physical relationship with him?

My father stared at my face and then said – Seeing that person from a distance.

Looking at the person you are observing from a distance without telling them reveals a lot about their nature, character or temperament.

He further explained that a person's nature or character does not really come out when he interacts in public with someone who is more powerful than him in terms of money, position or status.

Conversely, observe, if you can, when the person under study interacts with someone who is less fortunate than him in terms of money, in terms of power, or in terms of position.

He further said-You may find a person talking to his boss in the most polite manner, but at the same time it is not uncommon to see the same person behaving in the worst and most humiliating manner with his subordinates.

Know such people as fake of the first order-he told me.
******************************************** *****
It would also be useful to observe how the person you are interested in interacting with a woman, especially when such interactions take place away from the public eye.
******************************************** *****
A person's inner value can also be reflected in his behavior during a crisis or distress, if that crisis/distress is visible or known to you in some form or the other.
Where does a person goes, who does he meet, how does he entertain himself, etc. are some of his behavioral traits, which if you know, can give you some clues about his character.
******************************************** ******
In the end he concluded that instead of asking anyone, the answers to such questions should be sought not from anyone else but from oneself.
Self-exploration of an issue always benefits the individual in different ways.
******************************************** ******
Yet the way he summarized the case still sticks in my memory.
