I already knew the meaning of the word "moonlight" which I suppose everyone knows. But knowing the meaning of this word can't help one to know the meaning of the term "moonlighting". In fact had the news of sacking 300 odd IT professionals of Wipro not come in the media on grounds of being caught working stealthily for other companies also I would not have known the meaning of the term "moonlighting". Now only I came to know what "moonlighting"refers to. It is doing a side job without informing your employer.  Definitely I was unaware of the term but not the practice which is referred to by the term.      The IT world which brought the paradigm shift after liberalisation,globalisation, privatisation(LGP) has given rise to many work opportunities and issues as well. Power is a capacity which one, in a pre-structured system, acquires or inherits.  It makes its presence felt easily if it is there. It can change the status quo the way it likes. It has the potential to create a difference. Suppose your cell phone is snatched away by a street urchin or you are travelling in a train and your purse is stolen or your ear wear is lost in a crowded market or you forgot one of your luggage while catching a bus or train or getting into a metro in haste.  In the same way if an incident of theft occurs in a house, are the precious articles so stolen recovered?  If yes, how much and after what strenuous efforts,if any? अंगद-रावण संवाद गोस्वामी तुलसीदासजी रचित विश्वप्रसिद्ध ग्रंथ "रामचरितमानस" का एक महत्वपूर्ण अंश है.                    तुलसीदासजी ने इस प्रकरण को काफी बखानकर वर्णन किया है. उसी को मैंने भी कतिपय गद्य में वर्णन करने का प्रयत्न किया है.     गद्य हो या पद्य; दोनों का एक दूसरे में हू-ब-हू अनुवाद ऐसे उपक्रम को प्राणहीन बना देता है. इसलिए संवाद को सरस बनाने की खातिर अपनेतया मैंने कतिपय महत्वहीन हेरफेर कर दिया है; लेकिन बहुत नहीं. तथ्य मूल में वही है. हां!बाल्मीकि रामायण में यह संवाद उस तरह बिल्कुल नहीं है; न हीं वैसा रोचक हीं जैसा रामचरितमानस में.  **************************************************** गोस्वामीजी द्वारा रचित इस अंगद का रावण से संवाद को गद्याकार करने का उद्देश्य कुछ विशेष नहीं बल्कि इसी बहाने कुछ आनंद मिले;बस यही है. जिस प्रकार लक्ष्मण ने परशुराम को क्रोध दिला-दिला कर उन्हें जर्जर कर दिया कुछ इसी तरह अंगद ने रावण को न केवल अपने वाकचातुर्य से परास्त कर दिया बल्कि उससे क‌ई गुना उसे लज्जित भी कर दिया.    सच ...

डैमेज कंट्रोल. ****************************************************** बीडीओ साहेब का सरकारी आवास. (बीडीओ साहेब ब्लाक में अपने इस सरकारी आवास में अकेले रहते हैं; परिवार पटना में रहता है. उन्होंने ब्लॉक के हीं किसी गांव के एक बीस-एक्कीस वर्ष के युवक जिसका नाम बिनोद है,को अपने साथ रखा है. बिनोद उनका घरेलू स्टाफ के तौर पर काम करता है तथा बीडीओ साहेब के क्वार्टर के आउटहाउस में हीं रहता है.) ****************************************************** बीडीओ साहेब के आवास पर एक काले रंग की एसयूवी एकाएक आ कर रूक जाती है. गाड़ी के आगे वाले प्लेट पर बड़े अक्षरों में "विधायक" लिखा हुआ था.विधायक जी की गाड़ी में उनके साथ एक-दो लोग और थे. गेट पर गाड़ी रूकते हीं बिनोद अपने बनियान के ऊपर कमीज डाल उसका बटन लगाते-लगाते हीं दौड़ पड़ता है. ****************************************************** तब तक विधायक जी गाड़ी से उतर चुके थे. वे इधर-उधर बस यूं ही खड़े-खड़े गरदन घुमा-घुमाकर चारों ओर मुआयना करने लगे. हांलांकि बाद में उन्हें महसूस हुआ कि बेकारे गाड़ी पर से उतरे; बिनोद तो आइये रहा था. सोचने लगे उतरना...
